Jeni in the garden of her home in a bushland setting on the Sunshine Coast, Queensland

Adelaide born Jeni Herde showed natural ability to draw and paint at a very early age. Although she has experimented with most mediums, water colour, oils and pencil drawing are her favourite choices.

She has lived in Sydney and Brisbane most of her married life and now resides on the Sunshine Coast at Doonan with her husband.

During her time in Sydney and Brisbane, Jeni gained invaluable experience with further studies, exhibitions, winning numerous awards and enhancing her skills by attending workshops and private tuition. Also she was a member of the Royal Queensland Art Society for 14 years and several years with the Queensland Water Colour Society

For over 25 years, Jeni has travelled extensively throughout Europe visiting many wonderful galleries where she developed a love and appreciation of the "Old Masters". These experiences have inspired Jeni to follow the basic principles of traditional painting. An early study of botanic art has equipped her with a very good eye for detail. Her love also of "The Impressionists" have also tested her versatility of style - this style has allowed Jeni to enjoy much commissioned work "word of mouth".

France and Italy are portrayed often in her watercolours and still life and portraiture play an important part in her passion for painting. Adding to her pride, she proudly claims commissioned work in private collections in the UK, Italy and Germany.
